· Tuesday:
o Warm Up: EOC Prep (USATESTPREP)
o Opening: BRAINPOP! Subject Verb Agreement
o Work Session -
§ Instruction (I do): Subject Verb Agreement Mini-Lesson
§ Guided Practice (We do): As a class, we will watch a Film Adaption of “Harrison Bergeron”
§ Independent Practice (You do): Students will complete Common Assessment 6 (CTLS) on text/film adaptions.
o Closing: Think, Pair Share - Students will discuss the assessment with a partner.
· Wednesday:
o Warm Up: Pronoun Antecedent Review
o Opening: Students will define Equality & Revolution in their own words.
o Work Session -
§ Instruction (I do): Teacher will do “Before You Read” Activities with the class. (George Orwell video bio & open discussion about Equality & Revolution).
§ Guided Practice (We do): We will begin reading Chapter 1 of Animal Farm. Students will be given a character analysis sheet to complete throughout the novel.
§ Independent Practice (You do): Students will begin completing their character analysis chart as well as their Double Entry Journal for Chapter 1.
o Closing: Ticket Out the Door: So far, what do you think about the animals in the farm?
· Thursday:
o Warm Up: Subject Verb Agreement Review
o Opening: Students will review a few important quotes from chapter 1. Students will discuss/infer the importance of these quotes to the novel based on our readings from yesterday.
· “Man is the only real enemy we have. Remove Man from the scene, and the root cause of hunger and overwork is abolished forever.”
· “Why then do we continue in this miserable condition? Because nearly the whole of the produce of our labour is stolen from us by human beings.”

§ Instruction (I do): Teacher will review Chapter 1 of Animal Farm. Teacher will have an open discussion about Mr. Jones & his relationship with the animals.
§ Guided Practice (We do): We will begin reading Chapter 2 of Animal Farm.
§ Independent Practice (You do): Students will continue completing the character analysis chart.
o Closing: Ticket Out the Door: Students will review their character chart with a partner.
· Friday:
o Warm Up: Sustained Silent Reading
o Opening: EOC Prep
o Work Session -
§ Instruction (I do): Review Chapter 2 (Animal Farm), review important quotes from chapter 2. These quotes should be listed on their Double Entry Journals.
§ Guided Practice (We do): We will begin reading Chapter 3 of Animal Farm. (Whole Class or Silently)
§ Independent Practice (You do): Students will complete comprehension questions on Chapters 1-3.
